Contains the International Standard Book Number (ISBN). Use for terms of availability (e.g., price), cancelled ISBNs, invalid ISBNs, and SBNs. An ISBN is a unique number assigned to an item by its publisher. Each ISBN is a ten-digit number and has four parts: the language group of the country of publication, the publisher, the title, and the check character. If printed in a book, catalog or bibliography, these four parts are usually separated by hyphens. Do not enter the hyphens. If the final character is an x, enter an uppercase X. Do not enter 13-digit ISBNs in field 020. Use field 024, 1st indicator value 3. This is a temporary practice until OCLC system migration is complete, at which time ISBNs will be entered in field 020. يتضمن هذا الحقل الرقم الدولي الموحد للكتب (ردمك) وبيانات الإتاحة وأرقام ردمك الملغاة أو غير الصحيحة. ردمك هو رقم فريد مكون من عشر خانات يقوم الناشر لمصدر المعلومات بوضعه، ويتكون من أربعة أجزاء. الجزء الأول خاص بفئة اللغة لدولة النشر، والجزء الثاني خاص باسم الناشر، والجزء الثالث خاص بعنوان مصدر المعلومات، أما الجزء الأخير فخاص برمز التحقق. لا تدخل الواصلات (-) التي تفصل بين هذه الأجزاء. إذا كان رمز التحقق x فيتعين إدخاله حرفا كبيرا X لا تدخل ردمك الجديد المكون من 13 خانة في الحقل 020 بل أدخله في الحقل 024 بحيث يكون المؤشر الأول 3، وهذه ممارسة مؤقتة حتى يتسنى الانتهاء من ترحيل هذه البيانات في نظام مؤسسة OCLC ، وعندئذ ستوضع جميع قيم ردمك في الحقل 020 .
